Healing with Color Light Therapy
99Healing with Color Light Therapy reveals another way of using alternative and natural medicine to heal oneself from sickness and disease. Research and studies have begun to show how light is essential to one’s health and well-being. Just think about it the DNA within the nucleus of each cell of the body has been shown to emit light.
And now that the human body can be seen in 3D one can see the unique colors and light energy flowing throughout one’s being. Light Therapy is a form of vibrational medicine that uses light on the eyes, acupuncture points, chakras, meridians, reflex zones, and etc. to communicate the proper frequency for restoring health to the body and electromagnetic field.
Color therapy is a set of principles used to create harmonious color and color combinations for healing. The term color therapy sometimes referred to as color healing or chromotherapy is based on the belief that the human body is composed of energy fields and when the energy is properly distributed and circulating freely, the body is healthy. Imbalances or abnormal amounts of energy are believed to indicate an excess or deficiency that contributes to illness and or dis-ease of the body. Certain color combinations can provide the energy vibration that your body needs in order to improve and balance your physical and or emotional state.
When light enters through the eyes or the skin it travels neurological pathways to the pineal glands. Different colors give off different wavelengths of energy and have different effects on physical and psychological functions. It is believed that exposing the body to colored light can aid in healing. Yellow light is believed to can assist in healing gall stones, hypoglycemia and muscle cramps. Blue is used to treat ulcer pain, inflammatory disorders and back problems, while heart problems and cancer are believed to be helped via exposure to green light. Exposure to red light helps treat anemia, bladder infection, and skin problems while orange light assists in healing allergies and constipation.
The Seven Chakras or Energy Centers of the Body
If you are familiar with the seven chakras (major ayurvedic energy centers) within the body, then you will notice that the light and the areas of healing somewhat coincides with those colors. I’m in the process of learning about the body’s chakras and how they react to the stimuli of certain sounds and colors.
This year as I've been learning about chakras and attempting to mediate with music, I've experimented with looking at different colors and it does seem to work. I've been able to ease an upset stomach, as well as relieve a headache this way. As I learn more on this unique journey of
discovery I will gladly share the information. Below is a basic chart that describes the locations of the seven chakras colors. In the next section see how the color light therapy and the chakras go hand in hand.
Colors that Can Heal
Modern man is sick because he is not whole… - Carl Gustav Jung
Here’s examples of how color therapy has been put into practice; let's look at specific colors and their proven effects.
Blue: Calming, decreases respiration, and lowers blood pressure. Blue is cooling, electric, and astringent. Healing properties: Cools down inflammations (including rheumatic inflammations), calms strong emotions like anger, aggression or hysteria, fever, high blood pressure, stops bleedings, and relieves bursting headaches.
Green: Assists in reducing anxiety, helps those suffering with depression, nervousness, relaxing mentally, as well as physically, and soothing. Healing properties: Green is the color of Nature and the earth. It represents balance and harmony in essence and possesses a soothing influence upon both mind and body; therefore it can be used for just about any condition requiring healing.
Orange: Energizes, stimulates appetite and digestive system. Healing properties: Orange is warm, cheering, non-constricting; which has a freeing action upon the body and mind, relieving repressions.
Pink: An appetite suppressant used in diet therapy, relaxes muscles, relieves tension, and soothing, often times used in hospitals. Healing properties: Heals grief and sadness, restores youthfulness, and brings you in contact with your feelings.
Red: Excites sexual glands, increases heart rate, respirations and blood pressure, and stimulates brain wave activity as well as your appetite. Healing properties: Brings energy, stimulation, and warmth therefore is good for energy, fatigue, colds, chilly and passive people.
Violet: Good for migraines, provides a peaceful environment, and suppresses appetite. Healing properties: Being a color of transformation that heals hysteria, delusions and alcohol addiction, melancholy, and bring spiritual insights and renewal.
Yellow: energizes, improves memory, relieves depression, and stimulates appetite. Healing properties: Yellow helps strengthen the nerves and the mind, helps awaken mental inspiration, stimulates higher mentality, and energizes muscles.
Color therapy can be practiced either with colored light or color pigments such as paints or swatches.

This is awesome information. I have never heard of the Color Therapy Glasses.
Great hub. Thank you.
Great Hub! This explains the old saying 'seeing the world through rose coloured glasses'!
Yes I do believe that Healing with colour light therapy can be very beneficial to the recipient.
If possible it is always better to get healing naturally as the mind can be a very powerful tool. The photos are very soothing too. A very good hub, voted up
Very interesting article. I have never seen the light therapy glasses either.
Great work - this is a super overview for anyone considering color light therapy!
WOW!... very amazing! Thanks for sharing! =)
As a painter, i always felt some innate draw to certain colors and combinations. When i first discovered color therapy it seemed much of the info was in agreement with things I have mused. You have reminded me to delve further...although it does seem I dont have to delve much further, very comprehensive!
Nicely laid out hub, and interesting. I haven't heard of the type of therapy you are writing about, but in the 70s all the pediatrician were recommending pastels in rooms to calm infants and toddlers. I always decorated my daughters room in marshmallow pink. Now my room is light blue, spring green and white. I love it because it makes me feel content, and rested.
This is really fascinating, I knew from my own experience that colours affect how I feel but did not know anything about using colour therapy for healing. It is something I will look into more now I have read your excellent hub. Loved the relaxation music, thanks for sharing, voted up!
very intresting i heard about this before from my therpast but now i have a better understanding of it great hub ill have to print this one and share it with freinds and famliy very usefull info
Hey MG this is deff one of yer best Hubs ever, I love it that much I have printed it out to read in the bath tonight, keep going on yer challenge, you go girl x
great info mg. I think the greatest color therapy is in nature itself. So often I find that looking up at the sky or walking through a garden or a park can be very therapeutic. I've also been studying the chakras and find it all very logical. It just seems to make sense. Thanks for all of this great info! Excellent hub!
A light/color therapist (Cherie) comes to Dr. Abdo's (in San Antonio) about once a quarter, for a week. She has pretty sophisticated equipment.
Wow - this is a great article. I myself am now going to research Color Light Therapy for myself.
This is a great hub, have heard of color therapy but had never had the opportunity to learn more about it.
great work. thank you
Very neat idea. Nice photographs. God Bless You.
Oh yes, yes, yes. It works and feels so good. Thanks so much for the photos and youtube too. Those are excellent.
Red is my favorite color. You have covered it all.
Thanks a million!
Very interesting. I do believe colors can affect us both mentally and physically. Also, after reading this, I came to realize why I like red and orange better than green and blue. I guess it's because I'm naturally low-key (and lazy!), so I need something to energize me rather than calm me down. :)
Never thought light can be utilized for relaxation. An informative hub indeed!
Why would anyone to listen to advise about the most dubious therapy on the planet from someone calling themselves money glitch?
Light therapy really does work. I have used a light and sound combination device to put me to sleep every night.
It was desperation from insomnia which made me try it and if i wasn't desperate for sleep, i wouldn't have even considered trying it.
I enjoyed all sentences! Thanks for sharing.
nice hub, since i learned about color therapy, i have always been fascinated by it.
This is very interesting. I have never thought about color therapy. Thank you for sharing this very interesting topic.
This sounds like that "blue glass" fad that was popular in the 1870s. I'm skeptical that it worked then, and I remain skeptical.
vote for u
Great hub! it is the first time i have heard about the color glasses. Pretty cute!
I have just started doing animal reiki and i intend to introduce some color therapy. Much better than taking a drug!
Great article! Never heard of color light therapy, but now I am excited to give it a try. Thanks!!
excellent hub with right information
We use color therapy in many things from wall paints to fabrics, too. Good hub!
Slightly off topic but here is an example of how colors can effect your mood. Just imagine yourself in a city, surrounded by a grey and bleak looking concrete jungle with dull colors as far as you can see on an overcast day, now imagine yourself on a tropical island oasis with a clear blue sky and crystal clear water and pure white sandy beaches.
Just the thought of the second one brightens my mood and its all to do with the nice colors really.
As an artist I believe in the uplifting value of colors. Pastel shades are used throughout my home. Sunshine yellow always plays a cheerful part. Thanks for this interesting hub.
This is interesting. I've never really read/heard much about light/colors. One thing I do know is that I have to spend my days exposed to too much of the wrong kind of light, and - really - it is seriously, seriously, affecting my ability to feel a sense of well-being and calm down.
Yes being exposed to bright lights like a florescent light right before your bedtime can effect the way you sleep and throw out your sleep patterns and if you try to sleep with the light on all night then you might not get any sleep at all.
Light really does effect the way the brain works and has a direct effect on the brain's natural sleeping chemical - melatonin.
I've never heard of Color Therapy Glasses either. I like the colors blue and green. This is a very interesting hub! There's a lot to know more about colors.
Good Hub!!!!!!
Color Therapy is very effective as it is well proven into the hub. Research and studies have begun to show that how light is essential for one’s health and well-being. This is because when light enters through the eyes or the skin it travels neurological pathways to the pineal glands. The information is terrifically wonderful and immensely useful for enhancing our overall health. Thanks a lot for sharing such a wonderful peace of text.
Very well researched and presented. I provide Photon Therapy for small group of clients. I find the colors have been very well represented and each have their own imprint on healing. Healing occurs on so many levels, we are only beginning to learn our Energetic Bodies are a part of Us. I find clients with Cancer and that have undergone chemo/radiation treatments are energetically deprived. Their basic cells are calling out for healing to restore what has been depleted. Surrounding ourselves with colors that we resonate to, should be incorporated into our home environment. Create Your Own Sacred Space to revitalize on a cellular level. We usually don't think about these things, yet we gravitate to what our body needs. Very Good Information and Awesome Responses!
Thankyou for sharing~
Oh the flavors of the colors! Delicious article MG! My eyes are lit up!
Ben
I enjoyed your article very much. The information is helpful and the colors are amazing. I am going to bookmark this hub for future use, especially in the winter when I know I'll be needing the benefits of color therapy! Voted Up and Useful
This is a really interesting and well designed hubpage. I am interested in alternative healing and have read about the 7 different chakras in the body. I think that colour really can have an affect on your mood and wellbeing and I always feel cheered up by the colour yellow
very interesting. Id really love a massage right now.
I can see how this is a good thing. I know that people who live in Alaska have to have the right type of light in order to feel the right way. Chickens need light in order to lay eggs. I would hate to think of a world with not sun light. The sun puts off many different colors. When I close my eyes, my mood is what colors I see in my head.
Informative hub. Thanks for sharing your thoughts
I saw them do this to Gene Simmons on Family Jewels looks like it would work pretty well
Sure are alot of people reading the information you put out in hopes of changing something in their lives. Funny how some keep reading to complain but seems to me trhat you know what you are talking about and you do a good job of putting the information together!! Keep up the good work!
It is very interesting on how color light therapy can affect your physical well being. Nice hub.
I watched one of the videos and it just made me think of the music are there is on iTunes for your music. Just saying.
Hey Money Glitch, that was certainly an interesting article. I'm going to have to look into it a little bit more, not that I am questioning your research. I have always been under a way of thinking that the most powerful tool we have for healing it our minds. But, thank you for such wonderful article on Color Therapy. :) :D
I heard this from my moms friend. It works really. Nice Hub.
This is a great hub with loads of interesting information.
Cool idea. I have worn glasses all my life and even knew a guy that wore rose colored ones. It would be interesting to use light therapy to see how well it would work on me
I enjoyed reading this hub. I found it very informative and interesting, thanks
I really like your post,It's true that colors has a positive effect on us.Nice post!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
Great article! I was reading over the top hubs looking for another topic and yours caught my eye. I am really big into healing with colour light therapy and just recently got into Angel therapy. Healing with natural ways and thoughts is wayyyy better than that crumby medicine any day ;)
Great post!
Kris
Thanks Money Glitch for another great Hub! Colors definitely affect my mood! I believe you left a comment on my latest hub, somehow it got misplaced or inadvertently deleted! I apologize if I did it, wanted you to know it wasn't intentional!
Not sure how I missed this one. It is a great hub with great information. Thanks for including my hub in with the many other great hubs.

Really interesting Hub. Never heard about that therapie.
great hub, thank you!
It`s work?
I have learnt a lot from your hub! Thank you :)
There's no doubt that light has healing powers, never thought of the "color" with it though.
This was very interesting and well presented.
I never heard of this before, but it is valuable information. I will bookmark it.
Great hub love your work!
Hi Money Glitch, great article and wonderful information, the article itself was beautiful and colorful!
Fantastic article, wonderful and interesting information. Also, I think seeing everyone's holiday spirit through lights can really go a long way to make people happier and feel better! The healing of the holidays! :D
I wouldn't think that it would be beneficial, but it really looks like you did your homework. Interesting
This is amazing information and i will pour over it again soon. I believe I could well be a distance light healer but this is intuitive not learned and seeing this article shows me i have a lot to learn. a few years back I pictured a friend in need, health wise in colour, no real surprise there as an artist i see everyone in colour, but i poured on the rainbow light, placed her in a light bubble and then later I heard she was getting better! superb but I didn't think it was me as such....then a few months back a similar thing happened and it appeared similar healing took place but pah ! not me.....then I heard of someone three weeks ago who i was told 'died' i knew him but not overly well but immediately i felt the huge wave of grief and i thought...this can't happen, the family needs help so i placed them all in my mind and drew over the rainbow weaves and placed them in a bubble of rainbow light....i did this constantly for a few days and everytime i saw black i forced rainbow light through then i heard in 'real life' the man lived...so i decided right i gotta do something more so i said to God, "ok I'm gonna see if I'm a healer, so if he lives I'll take that as my sign I am!" it was a tall order but I felt completely guided and safe. I concentrated on the heart and also removed the blood and poured in rainbow light, every time i checked in on him (energetically I never visited the hospital)i could see him smiling i knew he was getting better but knew it was touch and go for a while. then I started to get ill feelings too like flue and indigestion so i asked "what's going wrong?" i was told 'nothing except you are taking it all on and not passing it on,' I asked who do i pass it on too? i was told "God of course silly!" so I then made sure that whatever i saw, felt, imagined I passed up to the Universe. But I knew I was out of my depth and so I asked for help, and immediately there were 4 other energy beings with me and we all held hands and floated above the guy and radiated light over him. Then one day I was asked to hold his head
the minute i did grey/black mercury liquid passed up my hands/arms/head and out within seconds..i tried to re visit but i was told it's ok you've done enough, he's healed....I wasn't sure but since that moment I couldn't 'see him' in my mind then today I saw his wife for the first time and she cried as she told me, he lives and is moving to a normal ward..............I cried too...amazing but I made sure she knew there were at least 5 of us working for at least 3 weeks. So now I'm thinking wow...what do I do with this?? I'm in the process of learning and reflecting
x
You have written a fabulous informative hubpage that is well constructed and chock-full of interesting tidbits.
Definitely one that I will bookmark to read again and again.
Hey!! I just want to ask what other treatments are available for SAD? and is light treatment useful for conditions other than SAD? I am expecting a reply from you. Thanks.
wow you opened my mind here, I never fathomed color light therapy. I had no idea light had theraputic qualities, great read, definitely learned something new.
I am now in deep relaxation... thanks for the cool song.
Really good hub, great pictures. Thank you
No problemo.
Thanks for the great info, bookmarking this page, there's a lot to absorb.
It makes so much sense! Just take a look at the world around us, so colorful!
Healing with Color Light Therapy.

thank you!
very interesting it could really relax. . :)
I really enjoyed reading this article, I have read about the Chakras before and also believe in meditation, whether its music, color or just thoughts. Great piece of work, thanks for sharing!
have never seen the light therapy glasses either.
I want to put that video about the music for deep relaxation up on my tv with the surround sound going. Ahhh.. I'm almost relaxed already. Always interested in learning about healing naturally... Thanks again for this informative piece.
Great hub and congrats you're a good writer.
What a great write. I am very into all natural treatments for health and I am currently doing some work on my chakras and I can say its is something that is out of this world. You provide great information. Great job!!
do you think this actually works?
Wow, this is interesting. Thanks for sharing this, learned a lot!
Great hub here! I am going to save it and print it. This is something that will come in handy. I think it is pretty amazing that God says, "we are the light of the world". And here is the proof! Take care..
Very thoughtful and interesting Hub!
I had no idea that this existed until now. I now have something to entertain me for at least 3 months. On another note, and I have yet to research this, you can talk to water. Funny how science works. Cool hub.
Interesting and pretty hub. thanks
This is so interesting!
The doctor was unable to provide relief from a recent gout flair so I tried the blue light therapy on the advice of this hub. Call it luck or the placebo effect if you want, but after six weeks on medications and no reduction in swelling or pain, I tried the blue light for an hour or so each night as I watched TV and three days later I am back to myself. I would still consult a doctor, too. But from now on, gout gets the blue light.
wow! this hub is really informative! I can tell you put a lot of time into it! Great read!
Very interesting. Now that I think about it you see in different food restaurants the colors that make you want to eat. How amazing. I enjoyed reading each color and reading what each one does for your body. As a person who gets migraines very frequently it was helpful information to read about the color violet. Nice hub. Vote up!
Ones perception determine their outcome and well-being. Great article! Awesome!
Without really knowing anything about color light therapy, I've always instinctively known that colors affect my mood and well being. I always wear colors that make me feel good, vibrant and cheerful. I refuse to have colors in my home that seem to have a negative impact. I really enjoyed reading your hub and learning more about color therapy! Bookmarked for later reference and voted up!
Thanks for the information..never had heard of all this. A very amazing hub. Voted up.
This is a very interesting post, and this is the first time I have heard about this therapy. Great one!
I love, love, love this hub! As an energy healing practitioner I am so happy to see this getting out there more and more. I'm going to link it to an article I wrote on The Chakras! Thanks.
I know that lights and certain colors change my mood, so this makes sense.
This is fascinating. I never thought about colour having healing properties before but it makes sense. That is why everyone feels good in the summertime!
This is a great hub. You put together a lot of good information about color therapy. I always love learning about alternative health practices.
I'm always looking for good ways to relax and I'm going to check this out. It reminds me of Deepak Chopra's Kinect Xbox game Leela.
